Deborah H. Telman "Deb"

Deborah H. Telman is Senior Vice President and General Counsel at Sorrento Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq: SRNE), a clinical stage biotechnology company focused on delivering clinically meaningful therapies to patients and their families, globally and Scilex Pharmaceuticals Inc., a subsidiary of Sorrento, a company that develops and commercializes pharmaceutical products that focus on the treatment of pain.

Deb has over 30 years of corporate experience at Fortune 500 companies, including serving as a senior executive at several global public companies, including Johnson Controls, Vice President and General Counsel, Building Solutions North America business, Abbott Laboratories where she was the Divisional Vice President and Associate General Counsel for the International Legal Operations responsible for all commercial legal activity around the globe. During her time at Abbott, Ms. Telman also led the successful spin and separation of AbbVie.  Prior to Abbott, Ms. Telman was Chief Counsel Mergers & Acquisitions for The Boeing Company and a Corporate Partner at Winston & Strawn.

Ms. Telman is involved with numerous civic, charitable and professional organizations.  Deb is a Trustee at City Colleges of Chicago and is a member of the Executive Leadership Council.  Ms. Telman is a board member of Chicago Humanities Festival and Harriet’s Daughters and a Leadership Greater Chicago Fellow.

 Ms. Telman earned a Juris Doctorate from Boston University School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from the University of Pennsylvania.
